Bio
I am an artist living in Brooklyn, NY. I am working on a new project stemming from histories of technology, quack medicine, orgasm, and the camouflaging of female pleasure. I have an MFA in Visual Arts from the University of California, San Diego. I graduated in 2003 from Brown University with a degree in Visual Arts and a minor in creative writing & Modern Culture & Media.
Currently, I work freelance as a filmmaker’s assistant, and work as a prop fabricator both for film and editorial work. I am also an Adjunct Professor at the Delaware College of Art and Design, teaching Digital Video and Four Dimensional Design.
I work between installation, film, drawing, and writing, to interrogate the ways in which personal memory can be understood through cultural memory, and how artworks can function as technologies of memory. I study a distinct affective state weighed down by despair, hopelessness and the suffocating ubiquity of corporate/militaristic/power structures. My artistic practice asks questions of culture and philosophy to study the hearts of specific characters, their friends/lovers, and the inconstant and distraught world they inhabit.
